Missed this price jump in UG Healthcare... The signals were clear. Lesson learned. Journal of a rookie trader

Which technical indicator shows support and resistance

The pivot point is the best intraday support and resistance indicator. It indicates the supports and resistances for the day, based on the previous day’s movement. If you are an intraday trader, these values are of pivotal importance to you.  -  https://tradersir.com/support-resistance-indicator/ Yahoo Finance charts have it... activated. Chose  Fibonacci option... This is the best support and resistance indicator a trader can ask for. In an uptrend, the Fibonacci retracement points are the strong demand zones, whereas the Fibonacci extension points are the supply zone (vice versa for the downtrend). -  https://tradersir.com/support-resistance-indicator/

Best stocks for swing trading

Look for  large-cap stocks  because they have bigger number of shares changing hands at any given minute, and this makes them easy to buy and sell quickly... Facebook, Apple, and Microsoft are suitable stocks for swing trading in certain market conditions. -  https://www.investopedia.com/investing/swing-trading-stocks/

What is swing trading?

Swing trading  is a speculative  trading strategy  in financial markets where a tradable asset is held for one or more days in an effort to profit from price changes or 'swings'. [1] [2]  A swing trading position is typically held longer than a  day trading  position, but shorter than  buy and hold  investment strategies that can be held for months or years. Profits can be sought by either buying an asset or  short selling .  https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swing_trading

Trading Journal 200722 - SGX, CSE, Hyphens

Combination of 3 Supertrends - works like magic

Image
In the previous post, I discovered a supertrend strategy. That is, buy on the first pullback after a green up Trend Arrow indicator is formed.  The problem is, I still don't know when to enter Because I don't know how much the pullback should be. Today, I found a better strategy. One with a clear entry point. The strategy uses 3 supertrends with the following set up... Period/Muliplier 7/3 10/3 11/2 Rule... Buy signal: three green arrows crossing all the three supertrend lines in the upward direction. Sell signal: three red arrows crossing alltall the supertrend lines in the downward direction. Stay in the trade as long as the trend line is above or below the price. Set a stop loss on the nearest super trend line. Switch between three time frames to ensure of the flow. Side note... There can be a green arrow between the three red arrows. Use candlestick chart.  On the last arrow the candlestick must close.  Best intraday time frame set up... 5 minutes 10 minutes 15 minutes Sour

What Is SGX Catalist Board

CATALIST was established in November 2007 as the successor of Sesdaq, and is one of the two boards of the Singapore Exchange (SGX ) ...  Its name reflects its vision of being a platform that catalyses the growth of young companies by giving them access to financing, and hopefully a transfer to the Mainboard. -  https://www.businesstimes.com.sg/opinion/catalist-a-platform-for-growth-firms-or-icu-for-mainboard-patients

Supertrend - Buy on the first pull back of new trend

How to use Supertrend indicator... Buy: As soon as a new trend is detected you should wait for the first pullback and enter into the new trend. Not immediately. Sell: Put a trailing stop on the next trend change value. https://www.perfecttrendsystem.com/supertrend-indicator-for-mt4-and-mtf-alert

SuperTrend works better on markets that tend to trend

The SuperTrend indicator works better on markets that tend to trend.  You will get better results by finding  Markets that have trended in the past – these have a much higher tendency to trend in the future. Scan through charts showing a long time-frame.  Look for markets that have tended to trend smoothly over the years.  It must not be too volatile or spent too long stuck in ranges. Supertrend Strategy

How to use... Buy: As soon as a new trend is detected you should wait for the first pullback and enter into the new trend. Not immediately. Sell: Put a trailing stop on the next trend change value. https://www.perfecttrendsystem.com/supertrend-indicator-for-mt4-and-mtf-alert I learned a new stock market indicator today. Supertrend. It was invented by Olivier Seban. It was designed for futures, forex, and equities but really works for any commodity. It has an unusually high accuracy of around 70- 80%. It is one of the few indicators that can be used in standalone technical analysis as it notifies the trader of an entry position and an exit position while also keeping track of a trailing stop loss. It is an indicator that relatively closely hugs the price curve of the stock. Another important reason why the super trend is very famous among traders is for the fact that it has very good Risk-Reward ratio. Usually, when a stock goes against us super-trend gives us exit signals minimizing ou

Do Traders Make More Money Than Investors

Trading has come to a grinding halt. All my disposable capital is stuck in a market that is not moving up. I can't even buy anymore when they are down. I just have to sit and wait for the day COVID-19 vaccine is available.  That's when the market will shoot up. Now I know why traders cut losses. So I guess I am not a trader but an investor. A long term investor... 12-year investor to be exact. The financial crisis seems to come every 12 years.  I don't have much of 12 years left ahead of me. It's time to become a trader. So... Do Traders Make More Money Than Investors? Basically, both will make as much money. The trader makes the money faster, maybe in minutes, but more stressful. They buy to sell. They cut losses. The investor makes the money slower,  up to decades, but more relaxed. They buy to hold. They hold losses and hope. Sell in May and Go Away

"What does  “Sell in May and Go Away”  (#SIMAGA) mean actually? #SIMAGA suggests that markets tend to underperform during this half of the year as compared to the six-month period starting..." https://www.phillipcfd.com/did-you-sell-in-may/?utm_source=poems&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=push US markets ended down but Singapore markets started up. CFD News Trading Strategy

" To be successful with news trading, it’s important that you follow a comprehensive economic and financial calendar, so then you will be aware of upcoming events or statistics that could affect the underlying asset you are trading. " -  https://infoforinvestors.com/academy/technical-analysis/cfd-trading-strategies/ My portfolio is inching back up again. That's good news. There are no sudden movements like what happened to SGX and Sembcorp industries. So there isn't anything to buy or sell today. Adrian's Journal The rookie trader's notes

The Meaning of CFD Trading in Singapore

CFD stands for Contracts For Differences. "It is an agreement between 2 parties to settle the difference between the opening and closing prices of the contract multiplied by the number of units of the underlying asset specified in the CFD.  CFDs allow customers to participate in the price movement of an underlying product without actually owning the asset, which can be a share, an index, a commodity, etc.  Phillip Securities offers the following types of CFDs:  1. Equities CFD (which includes Shares CFD and Shares Direct Market Access DMA CFD) 2. ETF CFD 3. World Indices CFD 4. Commodities CFD and 5. FX CFD I am studying CFD trading now because I want to trade in the US stocks. Compared with Singapore stocks, US stocks have bigger movements. Big movements could be up or down, which means it will be very risky. In the meantime, the markets in Singapore is again up a little bit this morning. It has been going up and down by point something percent in the last few days. That means it
